It is reported that Dr. Ray Jayawardena, a Sri Lankan astronomer, award-winning writer and educator, has been appointed as the 16th head of education at the world-renowned John Hopkins University in America.
Accordingly, with the appointment of Mr. Ray Jayawardena as the Head of Education at John Hopkins University, it is stated that he will be entrusted with many tasks such as formulating the educational policies of the university, supporting the research and educational operations of the university and preparing the syllabus.
John Hopkins University has announced that he will start working as the Head of Education from the 15th of October.
Acharya Ray Jayawardene has served as the Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Science at Cornell University, USA since 2018 and he has received his education from St. John’s College, Nugegoda and Royal College, Colombo. Having migrated to the United States of America for higher education, he received his Bachelor of Science degree from Yale University in 1994. In the year 2000, it is reported that Emena received the doctorate degree from Harvard University.
