It is reported that a freight train traveling from Kandy to Badulla this morning (23) has derailed in the area between Talawakele and Watagoda stations on the Upland Railway.
Due to this, there has been a train delay on the upland railway and the railway department has stated that the derailment work has already started.
Also, the department has stated that the passengers of the Udara train that ran from Badulla to Colombo and the Podi Menike train that ran from Colombo to Badulla will be transferred to the two trains at the place where the train derailed and the accident took place.
