On June 23, a two-and-a-half-year-old child was admitted to the Peradeniya Children’s Hospital due to a foot injury. The doctors recommended that the child undergo surgery.
According to this, the child was given an anesthetic drug for the operation, after which it is reported that the child died.
Due to this, the President of the Government Pharmacists’ Association, Mr. Thushara Ranadeva, said yesterday (19) at a press conference held in Colombo that the drugs issued to hospitals should be properly regulated.
