It is reported that a suspect has been arrested with 11,377 capsules of Pregabalin 150 mg which were illegally stored during a search operation conducted by the Navy and the Food and Drug Inspection Unit yesterday (14) in Anuradhapura.
Pregabalin is used to treat epilepsy and anxiety, and to treat nerve pain.
It is said that during a suspicious inspection of a pharmacy in front of the Medawachchiya Regional Hospital, this stock of pods, which were to be sold illegally, was found.
The arrested suspect is a 40-year-old resident of Medavachchiya area and the suspect and 11,377 capsules of Pregabalin have been handed over to the Anuradhapura Food and Drug Inspection Unit for further legal proceedings.
