It is reported that a young man was arrested yesterday (07) with 54 kg of Kerala Ganja worth about 40 lakh rupees during a search operation conducted by the Navy in Kankasanthure area, Jaffna.
It is stated that this stock of Kerala ganja was prepared to be taken from Jaffna to Kilinochchi.
The suspect is a 26-year-old resident of Kilinochchi, Dharmapuram and this suspect has received the support of two other youths. It is reported that the two young men ran away when the Navy officers came forward doing search operations.
It is stated that the arrest of the two suspects who fled and the implementation of the law against the arrested suspect will be carried out.
Also, the stock of Kerala ganja in the suspect’s possession has been handed over to the Kankasanthure police.
The police are conducting further investigations regarding the incident.
