It is reported that all PT-6 type training aircraft of the Sri Lanka Air Force have been temporarily suspended until the report of the special committee appointed to investigate the crash of a training aircraft which resulted in the death of a pilot and an officer at the Chinese port yesterday (07) is received.
A PT-6 training aircraft belonging to the Sri Lanka Air Force crashed yesterday morning (07) a few minutes after take-off at the China Harbor Air Force College, killing both the pilot and the officer on board.
After the accident, Air Force Commander Air Marshal Udeni Rajapakse appointed a special investigation panel for further investigation into the incident and the panel consisting of aviation, technical and medical experts is scheduled to submit an interim report to the Air Force Commander.
