The public relief room of the police headquarters received a complaint regarding the strike launched by the railway controllers and the controllers had reported sick leave on the last 4th day and launched a professional action in protest against a group of railway security department attacking a deputy controller working at the Maligawatta railway yard with a cigarette.
Due to this professional action, 80 train journeys were canceled on the last 4 days and nearly 50 journeys were canceled yesterday (05).
The Union of Railway Controllers decided to end the strike based on the agreement reached after a discussion with the Minister of State for Transport Lasantha Alagiyawanna yesterday afternoon (05) and it is reported that the Railway Control Room has stated that all trains will run as scheduled from this morning (06).
