It is reported that a person was beaten to death with an ax and a stone in Digala area of Dehiowita.
The murder took place yesterday (21) evening and the deceased was a 42-year-old resident of Digala Dehiowita area.
The deceased came drunk and had an argument with his sister and assaulted her.
Later, her husband came and attacked this person with an ax and a stone and he died there, police said.
The 43-year-old suspect has been arrested and the Dehiowita Police are conducting further investigations.
