It is reported that Colombo Chief Magistrate Prasanna Alwis has ordered former cricketer Sachitra Senanayake yesterday (01) to go to the Government Inspectorate Department and assist in the investigation.
That was when a complaint submitted by the Sports Corruption Prevention Unit regarding an incident of match-fixing was called.
The officers of the Sports Offenses Prevention Unit stated before the court that they need to conduct a voice examination of the suspect in relation to this incident.
As a result, they asked the court to order the suspect to go to the Government Inspectorate Department and assist in the investigations, and accordingly, the Colombo Chief Magistrate, after considering the facts, ordered the suspect, former cricketer Sachitra Senanayake, to go to the Government Inspectorate. Go to the inspectorate department to provide the necessary support for the investigation.
