Court of Appeal President Judge Nishanka Bandula Karunaratne issued a notice to hear a petition submitted by Nadun Chinthaka Wickramaratne aka Harak Kata not to take or remove the suspect named “Harak Kata” from the place where he is currently detained without informing the Court of Appeal, the Fort Magistrate Court and the Attorney General. It is reported that the panel of Judges and Chamath Morayas ordered the respondents including the Criminal Investigation Department.
It is stated that this order will remain in force until the hearing of the petition is over, and that this petition was scheduled to be called again on the 25th of September.
The suspect named Harak Kata had submitted this petition through his lawyers asking for an order to prevent the further extension of the detention order issued against him.
