It is reported that the Consumer Affairs Authority has taken legal action against the sale of Keeri Samba rice to a customer in a Sathosa branch in Gampaha area.
On January 26, a customer bought 5 kilos of Keeri Samba from a Sathosa branch in Gampaha area and due to a suspicion regarding the rice, the customer has called the Gampaha Additional District Secretary. The Gampaha District Investigation Unit of the Consumer Affairs Authority has been informed to investigate this matter. Meanwhile, it is reported that the officials have taken the samples of Keeri Samba rice that were kept for sale in that branch and have been tested.
Accordingly, it is stated that legal action will be taken against the Gampaha Sathosa branch.
