The Department of Epidemiology has said that the number of dengue cases reported in 2023 has exceeded 75,000.
Accordingly, as of yesterday (27), 75,377 dengue cases have been reported in the year 2023.
The highest number of patients are from Colombo district and it is 15,953. Western Province reported the highest number of cases at 35,553, which is the highest number of cases by province.
Also, 6,884 cases of dengue have been reported in November and the health department has said to keep the surrounding environment clean and destroy mosquito breeding places to get rid of dengue.
