An outstanding electricity bill of nearly 07 crore rupees had been forwarded to Badulla Teaching Hospital and due to non-payment of it, the electricity board had taken steps to cut off the electricity in the hospital’s medical quarters, nursing training section and nursing dormitory yesterday (10) morning and the hospital administration yesterday (10) afternoon. It is reported that an amount of 20 million rupees has been paid and after a written notification that the remaining amount will be paid within a week, steps have been taken to restore the electricity supply.
