It is reported that a senior officer of the Criminal Investigation Department has stated that two powerful drug traffickers arrested in Madagascar, ‘Harak Kata’ aka Nandun Chintaka and ‘Kudu Salindu’ aka Salindu Malshitha, will be brought to Sri Lanka by air tomorrow (March 14).
He further mentioned that Harak Kata and Kudu Salindu are currently under the protection of the Sri Lankan secret police team and arrangements are currently being made to bring them back to Sri Lanka under strict security arrangements.
A special police team made up of the Criminal Investigation Department and the Special Task Force left for Madagascar on the evening of the 11th to bring the cattle rustlers and drug paraphernalia to Sri Lanka and it is reported that two Assistant Superintendents of Police of the Criminal Investigation Department and the Special Task Force were also included.
Two officials from Madagascar’s security department are also scheduled to come to Sri Lanka for the process of bringing the cattle butchers and drug paraphernalia to Sri Lanka.
8 people, including drug dealers and cattle rustlers, were arrested in Madagascar on the 1st of last year, based on red notices.
It has been reported that a woman who was said to be Harak Kata’s wife was also among them.
It is also reported that investigations are underway under DIG Prasad Ranasinghe and Director of Criminal Investigation Department Senior Superintendent of Police Kavinda Piyasekera.
