It is reported that China’s ambassador to Sri Lanka, Mr. Chi Shenhong, said yesterday (28) while participating in an award ceremony held at Sri Chandananda Vidyalaya, Kandy, that China will continue to support Sri Lanka, which is gradually recovering from the economic crisis.
Commenting further, the Chinese Ambassador,
“For almost 30 years, the Sri Lankan people were affected by the war. In the fight against terrorism, China gave Sri Lanka a lot of strength and provided it with the necessary support on the battlefield. Also, China acted as a defender to protect the sovereignty and pride of Sri Lanka internationally. After the war China provided a lot of aid for the development. China also provided support for the development of infrastructure such as highways, railways, ports and airports for the economic and social development of this country.”
