A school girl was found dead in a lodge in Kopai, Tiranaveli area and it is reported that the police found a letter written in Tamil by her grandmother in the lodge room where the girl died.
Accordingly, it has been revealed that the girl’s death was a murder committed by her grandmother.
“I feel like dying. If I die, my granddaughter will be alone. That’s why we both decided to die. No one else is responsible for our deaths,” said the letter.
Recently, a dead body of a 12-year-old girl was found in a lodge room in Kopai, Tiranaveli area, and her grandmother was also unconscious on the other bed in the same room, and she was admitted to the Jaffna Hospital for treatment.
The two of them had come to a lodge in Tiranaveli area on the 9th and the staff of the lodge informed the police that there was a smell coming from the room where they were staying. There, the dead body of the girl was found on a bed in the room.
During the investigations conducted by the Kopai police regarding the incident, it has been revealed that the grandmother killed the girl by making her take sleeping pills and giving her an insulin injection. The 63-year-old grandmother, who was arrested in connection with the murder, is being treated at the Jaffna Hospital under police protection and the Kopai Police is conducting further investigations regarding the letter found in the room.
It is said that the dead girl’s body has been handed over to her father.
