Member of Parliament Mr. Dayasiri Jayasekara was removed from the membership of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party and from the post of its Secretary General, and former President Maithripala Sirisena, as the party president, informed him of this by issuing a letter bearing his signature. It is reported that Mr. Dayasiri Jayasekara is going to submit a petition to the court this afternoon (06) through a lawyer.
After Mr. Dayasiri Jayasekara was removed from the party membership and from the position of its General Secretary, the party headquarters located at Darley Road in Colombo was locked and locked this morning (06) and Mr. Sarath Ekanayake, who was the deputy general secretary of the party, was appointed as the new general secretary of the party.
Today (06) afternoon, Sri Lanka Freedom Party Chairman, former President Mr. Maithripala Sirisena chaired the work of the party office again and today (06) afternoon Mr. Maithripala Sirisena who came to the party headquarters while speaking to the media said Dayasiri for any other position other than the position of General Secretary. He is ready to accept Mr. Jayasekara into the party.
