The Colombo District Court has refused to issue an injunction preventing the implementation of the party’s decision to suspend the party membership of the Secretary General of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party, Mr. Dayasiri Jayasekara, and Mr. Sarath Ekanayake, who was appointed to serve as the Secretary General of the party held by Mr. Dayasiri Jayasekara. It is reported that the court has issued a restraining order.
Colombo District Judge Sandun Withanage has issued this order after considering a complaint submitted by Mr. Dayasiri Jayasekara challenging the decision taken by its Chairman, former President Mr. Maithripala Sirisena to suspend his party membership contrary to the party constitution.
