It is reported that the government has worked to revise the customs import tax for imported milk powder.
Accordingly, effective from yesterday (12), a tax of 100 rupees per kilogram of imported milk powder is to be charged and it is stated that this tax amendment will be effective until further notice.
A customs import tax of 20% or 225 rupees was imposed for a kilogram of imported milk powder, and steps were taken to remove it recently.
Also, the Milk Powder Importers Association has stated that they do not expect to make a change in the price of milk powder even if there is a tax increase.
