It is reported that Mr. Jeevan Thondaman, the Minister of Water Supply and Estate Infrastructure Development, has stated that there will be no revision in the water tariff this year.
He mentioned that the last water tariff revision was in August 2023.
Minister Jeevan Thondaman has stated that he strongly rejects the rumors spreading in the society about the proposed water tariff formula aimed at the elections.
He has stated this while attending a central meeting held at the Presidential Media Center.
He has further mentioned that the ministry is currently focused on introducing a cost recovery formula for a policy-based water tariff adjustment as a collaborative effort with the Asian Development Bank.
