The Colombo Fort Magistrate’s Court has informed Mr. Deshbandu Tennakoon, Senior Deputy Inspector General of Police in charge of the Western Provinces, to appear as a suspect in connection with the discovery of more than one crore seventy-eight hundred thousand rupees found there when the Gota Go village activists entered the Presidential Palace on May 9 last year. It is reported that a writ was issued to the Court of Appeal invalidating the issued summons.

Also, it is reported that the Court of Appeal has issued a writ overturning a letter issued by the Attorney General requesting Mr. Deshabandu Tennakoon to be named as a suspect in connection with the attack on the Gota Go village struggle in Galle Muwadora on May 9 last year.
