It is reported that today (16) the Colombo Magistrate’s Court gave permission to his family members to bury the body of businessman Mr. Dinesh Shafter, which was exhumed for investigation purposes.
Accordingly, Colombo Additional Magistrate Mrs. Rajindra Jayasuriya has ordered to bury his body in a plot purchased by the deceased’s wife in Colombo Jawatta Cemetery.
The magistrate has given this order after investigating the recommendations made by the five-member expert medical committee appointed to find out the cause of death of Mr. Shafter that it is inappropriate to cremate his body and after that the magistrate ordered the re-convening of this investigation on the 31st. It was also mentioned that the report of the committee is expected to be submitted to the court.
