It is reported that the Ceylon Electricity Board is asking the people to refrain from flying kites in and around the high voltage transmission line between Hambantota and New Polpitiya.
The Electricity Board says that due to the flying of kites these days in Polpitiya and the surrounding areas, kites entanglement in power lines are commonly reported and it has become a hindrance to the laying of power lines.
As a result, the electricity board, which has requested to refrain from sending kites, says that the work of connecting the wires will be completed in about a week.
