It is reported that the license fee for running explosives-related businesses has been increased and the gazette for the same has been issued by President Ranil Wickramasinghe as the Defense Minister.
Accordingly, the license fee of 4,000 rupees for the production of safety thread has been increased to 7,000 rupees, the license fee of 2,000 rupees for the production of stone gunpowder has been increased to 4,000 rupees, and for the possession and use of explosives. It is said that the permit fee has been increased to 2,000 rupees and the fee of 7,000 rupees to 10,000 rupees for the production of both stone gunpowder and security service thread.
Also, the license fee for the business of importers of explosives and the license fee for the business of suppliers of explosives have also been increased.
