It is reported that 5 suspects have been arrested in connection with an incident of kidnapping a person, robbing a gas cylinder and escaping.
The police say that a group of people who came from a cab kidnapped a person from a shop and stole a gas cylinder.
Five suspects were arrested with the cab used for the crime and the stolen gas cylinder yesterday morning (03) in Kilinochchi area during the investigation based on the information received by the Kopai Police Station.
The abducted person was also found in the custody of the suspects and it is said that the arrested suspects are residents of Paranthan area, aged 22, 23, 24, 31, and 34 years.
It has been revealed that the abduction was done due to a money dispute and the abducted person has been admitted to the Jaffna Hospital.
The arrested suspects are scheduled to be presented to the Jaffna Magistrate’s Court today (04) and Kopai Police are conducting further investigations.
