It is reported that the Department of Immigration has stated that it will implement a system of providing visas without charging fees for tourists of seven countries.
Accordingly, this system is to be implemented for Chinese, Indian, Indonesian, Russian, Thai, Malaysian and Japanese nationals as a pilot program to revive the tourism industry.
Accordingly, this program will be implemented until March 31, 2024, and it is also reported that the aforementioned diplomatic, official government affairs, service and general passport holders are eligible for it.
Accordingly, people from these countries must apply for electronic travel authorization before coming to Sri Lanka and the Immigration Department has further stated that the electronic travel authorization will be given free of charge to tourists from those countries only for a period of 30 days.
However, it is reported that normal rules and regulations will be implemented for tourists coming from other countries.
