It is reported that the Minister of Agriculture and Plantation Industry Mahinda Amaraweera said in the Parliament recently that if substandard coconut oil is released in the market during the festive season, strict action will be taken against it.
The minister also points out that there are problems related to the quality of coconut oil produced and released to the market by small-scale mill owners, and as a result, consumers will be informed about this while preparing a program to standardize the products.
