The fundamental rights petition submitted by Senior DIG Mr. Ajith Rohana requesting to nullify the decision regarding his transfer without any just cause was heard today (17) after the summoning of a Supreme Court bench comprising of Mr. Preethi Padman Surasena and Mr. Mahinda Samayawardena. It is reported that the Supreme Court has ordered that the petition be called on August 3.
It is also stated that the Deputy Solicitor General who appeared for the respondents informed the court that objections have been filed in relation to this petition.
Furthermore, the President’s Advocate Mr. Faiz Mustapha, who appeared for the petitioner Senior DIG Ajith Rohana, informed the court to study these objections and give time to submit counter-objections, and accordingly, the Supreme Court ordered to convene on August 3 to consider the relevant petition. have
