It is reported that Jaffna District Member of Parliament Gajendrakumar Ponnambalam and Selvarasa Gajendran of the All Ceylon Tamil Congress Party went to the construction site of the Mullaitivu Kurundumale Temple Pagoda on the night of the 26th and had an argument with the police and army personnel guarding it.
The two councilors threatened the people there and told them to stop the construction immediately and declared that the construction of the pagoda is an illegal act.
When the Tamil political parties filed a case in the Mullaitivu court, they have stated that the construction of the Kurundumale Pagoda is against the law, despite the fact that the court has given an order not to build new structures at the place.
Several cameramen who came with the two MPs have introduced themselves as journalists and they have even gone to the barracks and the kitchen where the police officers and army personnel are staying and have taken photos and videos.
But information has been revealed that they are not journalists but a group of people working in the offices of MPs. This group walked around the Kurundumale Pagoda and scolded everyone and returned after staying for about an hour.
