It is said that there is currently a trafficking of hunting wild animals that come in search of water during the dry season. These smugglers make wells around dried up lakes and streams and mix poison with the water to hunt wild animals. It is reported that the Wildlife Conservation Department has revealed that wild animals are being hunted.
Also, the Department of Wildlife Conservation has further stated that the meat of animals that die by ingesting poison is unfit for human consumption, and that raids conducted by wild animal hunters have been increased during the dry season.
It is stated that the Department of Wildlife Conservation requests people to inform the 1992 emergency number if they have any information regarding such persons.
