Mr. Sagala Ratnayake, President’s Senior Adviser on National Security and Chief of the Presidential Staff, said that with the improvement of the country’s financial situation, solutions will be provided step by step for the problems that have arisen in the construction sector.
He mentioned this when the working committee on interest rates and bank recovery measures to uplift the construction sector met yesterday (28) at the President’s Office.
In view of the current economic crisis, the financial problems faced by the construction industry and the steps to be taken in this regard were examined at length.
Speaking further, Mr. Sagala Ratnayake stated that it is the government’s expectation to provide solutions to all the problems that have arisen in the construction industry.
Mahinda Siriwardena, Secretary of the Ministry of Finance and Dr. Nandalal Weerasinghe, Governor of the Central Bank explained the current situation in the financial sector.
Presidential Adviser on Economic Affairs Dr. R.H.S. Mr. Samaratunga and other committee members were present.
