It is reported that a woman has lost her life after being attacked by a wasp in the Karainagar area of Jaffna.
It is said that the accident occurred when the woman in question stirred up a wasp nest when she went to pluck kohomba branches at a festival held in a temple.
After being attacked by a wasp, this woman was admitted to Valantlai Hospital and later transferred to Jaffna Teaching Hospital for further treatment. He died while receiving treatment there.
A 63-year-old resident of Kalabhumi, Jaffna, died in the accident.
