Chairman of the Public Utilities Commission Janaka Ratnayake attended a press conference today (28) where it was announced that legal action will be taken against the relevant officials in the next few days if electricity is not enerprovided continuously until February 17.

Also, the electricity board, petroleum legalized corporation officials and bank officials who participated in a discussion held at the Human Rights Commission the other day said that the necessary quantities of naphtha and furnace to produce electricity at low cost are currently available in the petroleum corporation and the electricity board can buy these materials. If there is a shortage of money, they promised to settle the relevant money within two months after the tariff revision that is to be implemented in the future, and they reached an agreement to provide electricity continuously during the A-level examination, which is a preliminary examination that decides the life of the students, but today that decision has been completely changed, according to Public Utilities. Janaka Ratnayake, the chairman of the commission, announced.

Those who are responsible for this situation are the political authorities and the useless action of the Minister of Power and Energy is primarily affected. The Chairman stated that due to these actions innocent children have become helpless and the officials responsible for fulfilling their basic rights have failed.
