  • President Malwana speaking at the Centenary Celebration of Al Mubarak Central College.

President Ranil Wickramasinghe said that taking Biyagama Free Trade Zone as an example, modern commercial industrialization will be carried out throughout the country and the program will be started to lead the country to rapid development in the next 15-20 years.
The President mentioned that the Biyagama area, which was an undeveloped area at that time, got a lot of development with the establishment of the trade zone and that Sri Lanka itself will become an investment zone and many new investment opportunities will be opened to the world.

President Ranil Wickramasinghe mentioned this while joining the centenary celebration ceremony of Al Mubarak Central College, Malwana today (06) afternoon.

The President pointed out that several areas have already been identified in Bingiriya, Hambantota, Kandy, Trincomalee and the Northern Province for the establishment of industrial estates and the work will be expedited and all those areas will be built as commercial cities.

President Ranil Wickramasinghe also emphasized the commitment of people’s representatives to bring investment opportunities for the development of their respective districts.
The President pointed out that although some people said that industrialization was not suitable for our country, today the Biyagama investment zone has become the best trade zone in South Asia, and if industrialization like Biyagama and Katunayake were carried out in every province of the country, the country would not be under economic pressure today.

The President also mentioned that while working to strengthen the country’s economy by creating new investment zones, they are also working to open up job opportunities for the future youth.

President Ranil Wickramasinghe who came to Malwana Al Mubarak Central College this afternoon was warmly welcomed by the students.

President Ranil Wickramasinghe also issued a commemorative stamp and opened the new three-storey building of the college in conjunction with the centenary of the college.
