It is reported that due to the flooding caused by the Nilwala river overflowing with heavy rains, the roads in Matara district have been further disrupted.
The police mention that the Akurassa-Matara main road is flooded in the Paraduwa area and the traffic on that road may be hindered further, therefore the Matara road via Akurassa-Horagoda should be used as an alternative route.
Also, the Akurassa – Siyambalagoda road is also flooded from Panadugama area, and the Akurassa – Kamburupitiya road and the Akurassa – Makandura road are also inundated due to the inundation of vehicles.
