It is reported that after the adoption of the new constitution of the United National Party, all positions except the positions of leader, president, general secretary and treasurer of the party will be abolished.
The United National Party’s 56th Congress will be held on September 10 in front of the Lake House building in Colombo, where the new constitution of the UNP is to be adopted.
The new constitution will introduce a high-ranking committee responsible for directing the work of the party.
It is stated that the officials who held the positions of the party abolished by the new constitution as well as the active seniors of the party are to be appointed to this high ranking committee.
