It is reported that Justice Minister Dr. Wijayadasa Rajapaksa stated at the press conference held at the Presidential Media Center today (04) that he will investigate and implement the law regarding the misplacement of court cases.
The minister who commented further,
“Powder samples were in the custody of the court. Those in the warehouses of the Colombo Magistrate’s Court and the Panadura Magistrate’s Court have come out. These can never be done without the involvement of officials. There is a problem of them coming to the market. That is why we brought an amendment to the Poisonous Drugs Act. Keeping only the required sample . It should be placed in a suitable place under a suitable safety program. That is why the law was passed allowing for the destruction of those that are more than 5 grams in mass as soon as the reports are received. Solve that problem.”
