It is reported that the Colombo Chief Magistrate’s Court has today (14) ordered to recall the complaint filed against Parliamentarian Namal Rajapaksa and a group of others for committing an offense under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act.
That was when this complaint was brought before Colombo Chief Magistrate Mr. Prasanna Alvis.
The MP has been accused of money laundering by investing 15 million rupees illegally earned while working as a Member of Parliament in the Helocorp company.
The Criminal Investigation Department told the court that it has not yet received the Attorney General’s instructions related to this investigation. Accordingly, the magistrate has ordered the police to inform the police of the progress of the related complaint by the 15th of February.
