It is reported that the Sri Lanka Navy has announced that the relief teams are on alert to provide relief to the people affected by the bad weather conditions.
Accordingly, on the advice of its Vice Admiral Priyantha Perera, steps have been taken to place disaster relief teams in several areas of the southern province.
It is said that the Southern Naval Command has dispatched a relief team to Galle, Akuressa, Athuraliya and Thavalama and two relief teams to Kumburupitiya to provide relief to the people in the event of an emergency flood.
