It is reported that the bus drivers and conductors have started a strike from 10.00 am today (31) demanding the immediate arrest of the people who assaulted the timekeeper at Nittambuwa bus station.
Two private buses were parked last night (30) at the main bus station in Nittambuwa town where the Langama buses are parked. A group of private bus drivers and conductors attacked the Langama bus timekeeper when the Langama bus timekeeper who saw it said to withdraw the two private buses concerned.
It is said that the Langama bus timekeeper, who was assaulted, is undergoing treatment at Vatupitiyala Hospital.
