According to the information of a former member of the LTTE in Vaikkal area of Mullaitivu, it is reported that nothing has been found so far in the excavations conducted for 03 days in search of weapons and gold.
Headed by Mullaitivu Magistrate Mr. Dharmalingam Pradeepan, archaeologists, Mullaitivu Divisional Secretariat officials, village servants, forensic doctors, police and police special task force officers participated in this excavation event.
According to the information of a former LTTE member on the last 25th, Mullaitivu police informed the Mullaitivu court and started the excavation work from the 25th, but as nothing was found during the excavations on the 25th, 26th and 27th, they have taken steps to temporarily stop the excavations.
However, digging was done for 3 days with the use of earthmoving machines, where a trench with a depth of more than 30 feet and a width of nearly 15 feet was dug, but nothing was found.
