It is reported that President Ranil Wickremesinghe made a special statement on the occasion of the Meeladun-Nabi festival that patience and silence are sharp weapons.
The President says that patience and silence were his sharpest weapons even though the bitter experiences of the Prophet were not insignificant in presenting the message of Islam in the society at that time.
The President further stated that he requested all Sri Lankan Muslim brothers and sisters to join hands to strengthen the path of building a developed Sri Lanka by overcoming the challenges facing the country in accordance with the values pointed out by the Prophet.
