It is reported that P.A. Sunil Thilakaratne, a choreographer of Dorovwa Maha Vidyalaya who played the role of Prince Maname in Mr. Ediriweera Sarathchandra’s play Maname, passed away early today (21).
It is said that the puppet Rajje, who was engaged in a dance held in Kurunegala, fell ill suddenly and passed away while undergoing treatment.
He was 52 years old when he passed away and was a father of three.
Mr. Sunil Thilakaratne is an artist who has performed exceptionally well in many stage plays including Sinhabahu, Naribena, Asinivassa, Rukada Rajje and also in the movie Hogana Pokuna.
His body has been buried at Kitalawalana Baddegedara house for last respects and the family members have said that they will inform about the last rites later.
