It is reported that the Principal Service Union has said that the principals are in dire straits due to the new service constitution.
The union’s national organizer, Mr. Sisira Rajapaksa, said that if the council of ministers meeting this week does not provide a solution to this problem, they will have to resort to professional measures.
“Those who have lost their promotion and lost their salary have been informed to these rulers especially the Minister of Education and other authorities to come out of this crisis. It has been promised to remedy this through a cabinet paper. In the discussion we had the other day, the minister promised that he will present the cabinet paper by Wednesday next week. We believe that this promise will be fulfilled. If not, we are ready to gather all the principals and take serious action.”
