It is reported that Sachitra Senanayake, the former player of the Sri Lankan cricket team, who was arrested in connection with a match-fixing incident, was brought before Colombo Chief Magistrate Prasanna Alwis today (15) and remanded until the 25th.
It is said that today (15) his lawyers asked him for bail but the magistrate refused it.
On the 6th, Sachitra Senanayake was arrested after surrendering to the Sports Ministry’s Sports Crime Prevention Special Police Investigation Unit through a lawyer.
