It is reported that the sale of three types of flavored cigarette products distributed by Ceylon Tobacco Company has been stopped with immediate effect from November 17.
Accordingly, the sale of Dunhill Switch, Dunhill Double Capsule and John Player Gold Pro Cool cigarettes has been stopped.
According to the NATA Act, the regulations were introduced by former Health Minister Rajitha Senaratne under Section 30 read with Section 33 of the National Authority on Tobacco and Alcohol Act No. 27 of 2006 and according to the Gazette, smokeless tobacco products or mixtures containing tobacco in any flavor, color or sweet cigarettes or any electronic cigarettes containing tobacco are prohibited.
