An eye disease is spreading in many parts of the island these days and it is reported that this disease has spread among the children of Kotahena Central High School.
Mr. Mohan Weerasinghe, Principal of Kotahena Madhya Maha Vidyalaya, commented on this.
“On Thursday of last week, we could find about 40 children with eye disease in grades 6 and 7. On Friday, there were also about 30 children with eye disease. On Monday, there were about 35 children with eye disease. According to the instructions of the provincial education department, grades 6, 7, 8 These 4 days are not celebrated…”
Accordingly, Mr. Nimal Jayaweera, Director of Education of the Western Province, has informed the concerned school not to hold classes where the disease is spreading.
