It is reported that the new governors for the Northern, Eastern and North-Western provinces will be sworn in before President Ranil Wickramasinghe at the President’s Secretariat in Colombo this morning (17).
Accordingly, former member of the Election Commission GSM Charles has been nominated as the governor of the Northern Province, Sendhil Thondaman, the leader of the Ceylon Labor Congress, as the Governor of the Eastern Province, and former Minister Lakshman Yapa Abeywardena as the Governor of the North-West Province.
