High-ranking government sources have reported that without the approval of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of State Security, government institutions in Sri Lanka have studied the agreements signed with foreign countries and if there are any agreements that are dangerous to the country, they have started to cancel them.
Accordingly, about 150 such agreements have been identified and most of them have been signed with China.
It is stated that the University Agriculture Department, Meteorological Department and other government institutions and some ministries have signed such agreements.
Also, according to these agreements, the representatives of foreign countries are going to come to this country and stay for months, saying that it is for studies.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has issued a circular that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs should be informed and forwarded to the Ministry of Defense for approval before entering into such agreements and the National Assembly chaired by President Ranil Wickremesinghe has requested to study the agreements signed so far and withdraw from them immediately if there are agreements that are harmful to the country. The Security Council has given instructions.
