It is reported that two Police Special Task Force soldiers have lost their lives in a car accident in Velikulam area, Vavuniya.
Vavuniya Police also said that 5 other soldiers who were traveling there were injured.
The accident happened yesterday (09) around 9.30 pm.
The police said that during the rain, a police special task force jeep hit a dairy cow on the road and the driver lost control of the jeep, skidded off the road and crashed into a wall.
Two soldiers belonging to the Police Special Task Force camp located in Vavuniya, Madukanda have lost their lives and they are 29 and 31 years old residents of Kurunegala and Medawachchiya areas.
The injured soldiers have been admitted to Vavuniya Hospital and hospital sources say that the condition of two of the injured is serious.
Vavuniya Police is conducting further investigations regarding the incident.
